Toronto, Ontario, Canada lies on the north west shore of Lake Ontario. It is
the largest city in Canada and the provincial capital of Ontario. Toronto is at
the heart of the Greater Toronto Area, and is part of a densely populated region
in Southern Ontario known as the Golden Horseshoe.
Toronto is a major scene for theatre and other performing arts, with more than
fifty ballet and dance companies, six opera companies, two symphony orchestras
and a host of theatres. The city is home to the National Ballet of Canada, the
Canadian Opera Company, the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and the Canadian Stage
Company.
Because of the city's low crime rates, clean environment, high standard of

of the world's most liveable cities.
