The City of Kitchener is in Southern Ontario, Canada. Kitchener is
the largest city situated within the Grand River watershed. A dominant
glacial feature is the Waterloo Moraine, which snakes its way through
the region and holds a significant quantity of artesian wells, from
which the city derives most of its drinking water.
Kitchener's Oktoberfest celebration is an annual nine-day event. Based
on the original German Oktoberfest, it is billed as Canada's Greatest
Bavarian Festival. It is held every October, starting on the Friday
before Canadian Thanksgiving and running until the Saturday after. It is
the largest Bavarian festival in the world outside of Germany.
